Modern living involves placing high value on being busy and “doing” all the time. But perpetual “doing”, even activities you enjoy, can push your nervous system out of balance and make it hard to remember how to switch back to “non-doing.” Constant activity creates stress and tension that unconsciously get lodged in your muscles and energetic pathways. When the body and mind don’t know how to make the crucial switch from “busy/ up regulation” to “unwind/down regulation”, the results can range from difficulty sleeping to digestive disorders.
Stacey’s workshop will teach you how to guide your body to it’s own deep restorative mode through practices that ease muscular tension, unwind mental knots, increase breath capacity, and release holding patterns. Conscious and skillful letting go facilitates more flexibility, greater endurance, and both mental and emotional well-being. This workshop will equip you with both time-honored and up-to-date tools, techniques, and information on the physiology of relaxation. From our fascinating brain function to basic breathing anatomy, you will be empowered to rest more vigorously and live life more vibrantly.
